The hybrid powertrain is borrowed from the Prius model and combines a 1.8-liter gasoline engine, two electric motor-generators, a CVT, and a set of nickel-metal hydride batteries. The total power of the hybrid Corolla is 122 hp.
The driver can choose one of three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. In the latter case, the system ensures maximum motor performance for more dynamic acceleration. Electricity is partially replenished through the regenerative braking system.
The hybrid's equipment includes the Safety Sense set of safety systems with adaptive cruise control, as well as functions for frontal collision warning, lane keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition.
