A crossover, still under a layer of camouflage, was caught on camera during test runs on the roads of North Wales.

Unlike the two-door concept shown in the spring of 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show, the production version will have a four-door body. The new model's rivals will be the Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne, and Maserati Levante.

The base modification will be equipped with a four-liter biturbo V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG, with a power output of about 600 horsepower. For the flagship version, a 5.2-liter V12 engine with twin turbocharging, developing 750 hp, is provided.

The official debut of the Aston Martin DBX is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2019. Production will be organized at a new plant in St Athan, Wales, where more than 700 jobs will be created. Crossover production will begin in early 2020. The same site will also assemble Aston Martin electric vehicles and new luxury models under the Lagonda brand.
