Production of the new model has started in two versions: 840d and M850i xDrive. The first is equipped with a three-liter six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 320 horsepower and a peak torque of 680 Nm. Acceleration to one hundred kilometers per hour for such a car takes 5.2 seconds.
The top modification M850i xDrive uses a 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 engine producing 530 hp and 750 Nm of torque. The power unit is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission, capable of distributing power to all wheels if necessary.
Acceleration to the first hundred for the convertible takes 3.9 seconds — this is 0.2 seconds slower than the coupe with the same power unit. The electronic limiter prevents the car from exceeding 250 kilometers per hour.
