The overall length of the Volkswagen T-Cross, built on the modular MQB platform, is 4.11 meters. The car turned out to be about 54 millimeters longer than the Polo hatchback, which shares the same chassis with the crossover, but 12 centimeters shorter than the T-Roc model and almost 38 centimeters smaller than the Tiguan.

The wheelbase of the new model reaches 2563 millimeters, which is 114 millimeters less than that of the Tiguan. Thus, the T-Cross is close in size, for example, to the Nissan Juke, whose length and wheelbase are 4135 and 2530 millimeters, respectively.
The seating positions for front and rear passengers are located at a height of 597 and 652 millimeters above the road, respectively. In the crossover, passengers sit about 10 centimeters higher than in the Polo hatchback.

The rear row of seats can be slid forward by 14 centimeters, increasing the free space in the cargo compartment from 385 to 455 liters. With the second-row seats folded, the trunk volume increases to 1281 liters. Also, for transporting long items, the front passenger seat backrest can be folded.
All T-Cross models are front-wheel drive. The model is offered with two three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engines with a displacement of one liter, producing 95 and 115 horsepower. Also available is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower. There is only one diesel – a 95-horsepower unit with a displacement of 1.6 liters. Depending on the version, the crossover is equipped with a five- or six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed robot with two clutches.

The equipment of the new model includes LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster, a multimedia system with an 8-inch screen and four USB ports, adaptive cruise control, wireless smartphone charging, a 300-watt Beats audio system with an eight-channel amplifier, systems for automatic switching from low beam to high beam, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning.
In Germany, prices for the VW T-Cross will start from 17.9 thousand euros. Production of the model will be established at the brand's Spanish plant, where Polo hatchbacks are currently assembled.
