In the spring of 2018, the Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo concept was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show. Company head Oliver Blume then explained that this electric car has capabilities typical of SUVs. A little later, the first photos taken during prototype testing appeared online. It is expected that the production version will be named with the addition of the word Sport Turismo — this is how Porsche designates its cars with a Shooting Brake body type.

The powertrain of the new model will consist of a pair of electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles. The total power of the units operating from an 800-volt system will reach at least 600 horsepower. Acceleration to 100 km/h will take 3.5 seconds, and the manufacturer estimates the range at 500 kilometers.

According to available information, the electric station wagon from Porsche will be released in 2020 — right after the Taycan liftback, which will begin assembly in 2019. Robert Mayer, responsible for Porsche's electric lineup, said that the base Taycan will cost less than the Panamera. The approximate price of the initial version will be about 80 thousand euros.
