The publication Automotive News has released information about the positioning of the new model, citing Robert Maier, who heads the electric vehicle division at Porsche.

According to Maier, the price of the Taycan will fall between the Cayenne and the Panamera. The company's Chief Financial Officer, Lutz Meschke, added that the most fully equipped versions of the electric car could be priced at 200,000 euros.

The technical specifications of the Taycan include two electric motors from the Italian manufacturer Magneti Marelli, which are installed on both axles. These units are similar to those used in the Porsche 919 Hybrid racing car. The total power output of the powertrain will reach 600 horsepower, and power will be supplied by an on-board electrical system with a voltage of 800 volts.

The dynamic characteristics allow the electric vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The driving range on a single charge will be about 500 kilometers. If the fast charging system is used, it will be possible to replenish the energy reserve sufficient for 400 kilometers of travel in 15 minutes.

The production plans of the German brand involve manufacturing about 20,000 cars annually. This figure is approximately two-thirds of the current production volume of the 911 model.
