The hot crossover is equipped with a diesel engine with two turbochargers, which develops 240 hp and 500 Nm of torque. This is the most powerful diesel engine ever created at the brand's factory in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic — the same unit is installed on Volkswagen Tiguan models sold on European markets.

The engine is paired with a seven-speed DSG robot. This allows the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in 7 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 220 km/h. These dynamic characteristics allowed the car to complete the race track at the Nürburgring in 9 minutes 29.84 seconds, making it the fastest seven-seat car on the 'North Loop'.

According to the creators' idea, the Kodiaq RS is suitable for those who prefer a sporty driving style but need a family car for everyday use. As a result, the Kodiaq RS retains all the practical features of the 'civilian' version — it is also available in both five- and seven-seat configurations, as well as all Simply Clever solutions. The car is available with start-stop systems and an energy recuperation system during braking. In addition, even in the base version, the hot crossover will be equipped with the Dynamic Sound Boost system, which can amplify the growling sound of the engine depending on the selected driving mode.

In standard trim, the Kodiaq RS is equipped with sport seats with integrated headrests, as well as cushions and backrests with Alcantara upholstery. On the seats and on the steering wheel with the RS logo, you can also notice red stitching in a sporty style. The front panel is decorated with a carbon fiber finish.
