The sedan borrowed a number of exterior features from the Precision concept car, presented at the Detroit Auto Show in 2016. It can be distinguished from its predecessor, the ILX, by the modernized pentagonal radiator grille, new headlights with seven LED blocks, a differently shaped hood, and a rear diffuser.

The Acura ILX will be available with an upgraded multimedia system with a different dual display and a more intuitive user interface, whose response has become 30% faster. New sport seats with power adjustment have appeared in the cabin.

The list of available electronic assistants includes a frontal collision prevention system, adaptive cruise control, and a lane keeping function.
