Photos, in which the new model is shown almost without camouflage, were published by Motor1. The official premiere of the crossover should take place closer to the end of this year. Most likely, the car will be presented to the public at the Paris Motor Show. The main competitor of the new model will be the BMW X6.
Judging by the spy photos, the crossover will get a more sporty design. The car will have new taillights, a different rear bumper, as well as a different exhaust system. The traditional instrument panel will be replaced by two displays, each measuring 12.3 inches. One of them will show instrument readings, while the other will be responsible for multimedia control.

The crossover will get a new multimedia system Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), which replaced the top-end Comand and has already debuted on the A-Class. The artificial intelligence is capable of self-learning and over time will be able to understand even complex commands. MBUX can work in conjunction with the Mercedes Pro system. The car will also get a new multifunctional steering wheel with touch panels.
The car will be built on the MHA (Modular High Architecture) platform. The same chassis is used by the new E-Class. Thanks to this, the car will become noticeably lighter than its predecessor. The crossover's engine lineup will include gasoline and diesel powertrains with four and six cylinders. Later, the car will also receive a hybrid modification.
