The Lada 4x4 Vision is based on a "special platform" 4.2 meters long. The car has "outstanding" ground clearance, short overhangs, "extreme" approach and departure angles, and an off-road transmission with a "wide range of high and low ratios." AvtoVAZ did not provide exact figures at the presentation.

As for the exterior, the SUV features long front doors, a large black grille with chrome boomerang-shaped elements, wide protective metal underbody panels, 21-inch wheels, and LED headlights in the signature "X-graphics" style. The rear doors, with no central pillar, open in the opposite direction of travel, which is intended to provide additional convenience for access to the cabin.

Inside, sports seats with enhanced lateral support are installed. In addition, a massive automatic transmission selector and a "washer" for selecting driving modes are visible. On the central console, two large displays are installed — the top one is responsible for navigation system readings and other functions, and the second one for climate control settings.

Additionally, the prototype features a multifunctional steering wheel with beveled upper and lower segments, as well as a fully digital instrument panel.

In May 2018, former AvtoVAZ president Nicolas Maure stated that the next-generation Lada 4x4 SUV would appear in 2021-2022. At present, it is not yet known on which platform the model will be built. Earlier it was reported that the car could be based on the Renault-Nissan alliance's chassis for mid-size vehicles called CMFB-LS.
