Spy photos of the new model were published by Motor1. According to them, the next-generation sedan will be unveiled early next year.
Judging by the images, the new model will not differ much in appearance from the current Legacy. The car will get a new grille, as well as changed headlights and trunk shape. In addition, the sedan will have different bumpers and a different exhaust system.
The new Legacy will be built on the modular Subaru Global Platform. This same chassis is already used by the Ascent, Crosstrek, Forester, and Impreza. According to unofficial data, the engine lineup will include a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. A new 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine is also expected. Additionally, customers should be offered a 2.4-liter unit with 260 hp.
