In the Aston Martin lineup, the new model will replace the Vanquish S. Sales of the car will start this year, with a starting price of 255 thousand euros. The main rival of the sports car is considered to be the Ferrari 812 Superfast.
The car is based on the DB11 platform. Under the hood of the DBS Superleggera is a 5.2-liter gasoline V12 engine producing 725 horsepower. With such an engine, the car accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
"The driving characteristics of the DBS Superleggera may seem intimidating, and it is indeed a very swift machine. But to handle it, you don't need to be a superhero," noted Matt Becker, head of Aston Martin's engineering department.
The sports car features a massive radiator grille, expressive bumpers, a front splitter, a diffuser, and an Aeroblade 2 rear wing. The aerodynamics provide downforce of up to 1800 kg.
Additionally, the car is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes, a lowered suspension, a sport exhaust system, and 21-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires. The extensive use of carbon fiber has kept the coupe's weight at 1700 kg.
In the coming years, Aston Martin plans to release several new models. In a year, the British manufacturer will present an electric version of the Rapide and its first production crossover, which will also feature an electric drive.
