The electric car will have to undergo a series of tests in southern Spain in hot weather conditions.
The dry air temperature will reach 50 degrees Celsius. The company noted that if batteries lose their charge in cold weather, heat can cause serious damage to the batteries. In this regard, the main task of Mercedes engineers during the tests will be to work out optimal settings for the battery cooling system.

In addition, specialists will check the operation of the climate control system, as well as the degree of protection of the interior and vehicle components from fine dust typical of Spanish country roads.
The first prototype of the future electric crossover EQC was presented in 2016 at the Paris Motor Show. The concept was equipped with two units (one on each axle), which together produce 300 kW (408 horsepower). The car can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in less than five seconds.
The engines are powered by a set of batteries with a capacity of 70 kWh, which provide a maximum range of up to 500 kilometers without recharging.
