According to insider information, Volkswagen plans to unveil a concept pickup truck at the New York auto show.
Despite its concept status, the pickup is expected to be very close to production, and the model will be based on the Atlas crossover platform.
The new vehicle is created specifically for the American market, where the Amarok pickup is absent, and production of the future series model will be established at a plant in Tennessee.
The main competitors of the new Volkswagen pickup are called by the press Honda Ridgeline, Ford Ranger, and Toyota Tacoma.
