As previously assumed, Mitsubishi decided to name the new crossover after the discontinued popular sports coupe, but adding the "off-road" prefix Cross.

The Japanese have not yet disclosed detailed technical information, but some data about the new product has still leaked to the press. The revived "Eclipse" will receive a new 1.5-liter turbo engine with 120 hp and 200 Nm of torque, as well as a 2.2-liter diesel engine.
The engines will be paired with a six-speed manual or a CVT. In addition, the Eclipse Cross will be available in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive base versions.
