The new model will slot into the lineup between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, and its design will follow the currently fashionable coupe-like style. The public premiere of the Velar will take place next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
There are no photos of the new "coupe-crossover" anywhere yet, but it is already known that its technical basis will be the platform from the Jaguar F-Pace. The Velar will also borrow its engine range from the same model.
More detailed information about such an unexpected newcomer should be expected closer to the spring presentation.
