The main reason for discontinuing the minivan is the gradually declining demand for this body type, while crossovers are becoming increasingly popular. The discontinuation of the Alhambra model, as well as its sibling Volkswagen Sharan, is planned for 2018.
The Alhambra will be replaced by a seven-seat crossover that will be a step above the Ateca model. The forerunner of the new model can be called last year's 20V20 concept (pictured), but more detailed information about the future car is not yet available.
