The hybrid powertrain of the "five" consists of a two-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor, whose combined power reaches 252 horsepower, and torque — 420 Nm. The same layout is used in the hybrid version of the 3rd series.
The BMW 530e iPerformance promises impressive fuel efficiency: fuel consumption will be only 2 liters per 100 kilometers. On electric power alone, the car will be able to cover up to 140 kilometers. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.2 seconds, which is also a good indicator.
Sales of the hybrid version are scheduled to begin in 2017. The price of the new model is still kept secret.
