The creators of the I.D. concept claim that the electric car with 170 horsepower will be able to cover from 400 to 600 kilometers without recharging, and in terms of interior spaciousness, the compact show car is comparable to the Passat model.
The concept hatchback is equipped with retractable sensors located in the roof, which ensure the functioning of the I.D. Pilot autonomous driving system. The owner can use a mobile app to command the car to drive up from the parking spot on its own.
Volkswagen plans to present a series of electric cars based on the modular MEB platform by 2019, and by 2025 — to equip its cars with autonomous driving systems.
