The new product, which is currently listed under the code designation PO455, will likely be named R6 in production form. It is known that the model will be based on the Porsche Boxster platform.
The Audi R6 will be equipped with all-wheel drive and a 5-cylinder petrol engine producing from 450 to 500 hp. It is expected that the car will be available in two body types: coupe and roadster.
According to unofficial data, acceleration to 100 km/h for the new Audi will take 3.8–4 seconds, and the exterior will echo the flagship R8 coupe. Serial production is scheduled for 2018. Among the interesting details is the possible appearance of laser headlights and a system that changes the exhaust sound.
