However, as it has now become known, the management of the Czech brand changed its mind about this name and came up with a new one – Kodiak. What caused such a drastic change of name for the new model is a secret. In addition, it is not exactly known in honor of whom or what the new name was invented. Kodiak is the name of an island off the southern coast of Alaska, and translated from Eskimo, the word Kodiak means “point”. Plus, the same name is borne by a subspecies of brown bear that lives on this island.

Also, the manufacturer does not disclose details about the technical side of the future SUV. According to preliminary information, the new model will be based on the same platform as the Volkswagen Tiguan crossover. Presumably, the engine lineup will include three petrol engines - a 1.4-liter with 150 hp and two 2.0-liter with 180 and 220 hp. In addition, there will also be two diesels in the range - 2.0-liter units with 150 and 184 hp, as well as a hybrid setup consisting of a diesel internal combustion engine and an electric motor. We will be able to find out more detailed information closer to the premiere of the car, which company representatives have scheduled for autumn next year as part of the Paris Motor Show.
