The premiere of the new product will take place as part of the November Formula 1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi. The same designer who created the Lykan Hypersport supercar worked on the exterior of the super-SUV. The chassis development was entrusted to specialists from the Campos Racing racing team, which won the championship in Formula E this year.
The SUV's construction will make extensive use of carbon fiber, so the car weighs as much as a small car – just under a ton. At the same time, the engine is like that of a solid jeep - a 3.5-liter unit with a power of 300-500 horsepower (depending on the version).
What is most striking is the suspension travel - 350-450 millimeters. That's what is needed for Ukrainian roads! It is worth noting that the off-roader got its name in honor of the fastest and most enduring desert snake Zarooq («zerig»).
Sales of the Sand Racer are scheduled to start in 2016. The estimated price is from 80 to 170 thousand dollars.
