The debut of the new model is scheduled for 2017-2018.
The new model is expected to be based on the T-ROC concept car, which was presented last year. The model with a targa body should replace the Golf Cabriolet. As a competitor for the new model, Volkswagen considers the Range Rover Evoque Cabrio.
There is no official information about the technical parameters of the future car, but it can be assumed that the engine range will include petrol engines with a displacement of 1.0 to 1.8 liters and diesel units with a displacement of 1.4 to 2.0 liters. The power range is traditional for Volkswagen – 105-190 horsepower. A hybrid powertrain may also appear.
