The car will be based on a new modification of the XC90, and this is perhaps all the similarity with the car for a wide audience. At least, that's what they assure at Volvo itself.

There are plenty of differences. For example, instead of seven seats in the XC90, the Excellence version will get only four. This is done to provide passengers with first-class comfort. Large separated seats will include functions such as seat back adjustment, massage, and ventilation. Legroom will also increase.

As stated in the official Volvo Cars announcement: "Passengers will have the opportunity to use a retractable touchscreen to control the refrigerator, folding tables, a compartment for a bottle and glasses, a cup holder with heating and cooling functions, as well as elegant handcrafted crystal glasses from the leading Swedish glass designer Orrefors."

The XC90 Excellence will go on sale closer to the end of the year.
