The Italians have developed a strong desire to have a compact crossover in their lineup. As it became known, testing of the prototype is already in full swing. Based on the photos of the heavily camouflaged test sample, only superficial conclusions can be drawn for now. Most likely, the exterior of the car will repeat the style of the 500 model. However, it will be larger, have protective plastic body cladding and widened wheel arches. The ground clearance will probably be increased, but not significantly.

As for engines, only assumptions can be made. In Fiat's range of power units, there are quite suitable 1.2 L and 1.4 L petrol engines with 69 and 100 hp, as well as a 1.4 L diesel engine with 110 hp. Surely, the creators have provided an all-wheel drive option.

As we have learned, production of the compact crossover is planned to be set up at the company's plant in Italy. In total, in addition to the Fiat 500, the lineup will include: the compact minivan 500L, the compact crossover 500X, and the seven-seat 500XL.
