The world premiere of the production version of the Toyota iQ mini-car took place in Geneva – the smallest and most economical car of the Japanese company
Its engine will emit just 99 grams of CO2 per kilometer, which is even less than the hybrid Toyota Prius. The tiny three-door hatchback, only 2985 mm long, accommodates three adult passengers and one child (this space can also be used for transporting animals or luggage).
Sales of the Toyota iQ will start in Japan at the end of 2008, and in Europe in January 2009. The estimated price of the mini-car will be 13,000 euros or about 19,900 dollars.
