The Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday supported draft law No. 7418, which returns duties and VAT on imported goods, and from July 1 — also on customs clearance of cars. 234 people's deputies voted for the decision, as reported by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a parliamentarian from the Holos party.
The restoration of taxes on imported products should fill the state treasury and eliminate the unjustified advantage of foreign goods over domestic ones.
The document restores the taxation that was removed back in March:
·for single tax payers of the first, second and third groups who import goods (according to customs statistics, the budget lost about UAH 3.0 billion monthly in VAT and import duty revenues);
·for companies that do not pay import duty (according to customs data, monthly losses amounted to approximately UAH 0.5 billion);
·for cars imported by private individuals (due to the abolition of duty, excise tax and VAT, the budget lost about UAH 17.8 billion; more than 163,000 cars were imported, including a considerable number of premium-class vehicles).
At the same time, the draft law cancels the pension levy when purchasing electric cars!
