Biloshytskyi stated that a draft law is currently being prepared, which will be submitted to parliament for consideration, to introduce a system of penalty points. According to him, this practice is already used in other countries and has proven its effectiveness. This should help not only tighten control but also reduce the number of violations.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported that on February 16, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on strengthening liability for certain violations in the field of road traffic. On March 12, it was signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The document, among other things, removes the provisions on penalty points from the legislation.
At the same time, the law stipulates that police officers will be able to use technical means of video recording, and materials from them will be mandatory attached to the protocol on administrative offense. For this purpose, amendments are being made to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
