Ukrainians will be rewarded with 10% of the fine paid by an unscrupulous driver for a traffic violation captured on video.
Such incentives are provided for by draft law No. 5798, registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
These rules are proposed to apply not to all types of traffic violations, but only in cases of recording:
- driving through a prohibited traffic light signal;
- crossing a double solid line and/or railway crossings;
- parking in spaces for people with disabilities and general violation of parking rules;
- leaving the scene of a traffic accident.
If the draft law is supported by people's deputies, videos of violations will need to be sent to the police, and citizens will be offered to record them using a special application.
The dashcamUA development is already working in test mode, and such violations can only be manually recorded by police officers.
A video recording of an offense can be sent anonymously, and all files will be automatically entered into the blockchain.
This means that a notification of an offense cannot be deleted or changed.
Not all mobile devices will be able to record traffic violations, but only those that allow user identification through "Diia" and record the date, time, and GPS coordinates.
If someone wants to receive a reward for a falsified photo or video recording, they will face criminal liability.
