Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated that it is necessary to devise a mechanism that will facilitate border crossing for citizens, as well as allow them not to leave the country after five days, but to stay with their cars for a longer period.
Probably, such a statement by the head of government was a response to an initiative prepared by specialists of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration together with lawyers of the local customs. They proposed to increase the period of stay in Ukraine of vehicles registered abroad from the current five days to twelve months.
It is worth noting that in Zakarpattia there is a significant number of cars with foreign license plates, so it is not surprising that local residents prefer cars without customs clearance.
