Here it is worth making an important clarification. Yes, Ukraine really needs to cancel the additional import duty on cars, but this will not necessarily lead to lower prices for foreign cars. Theoretically, such a scenario is possible, but in practice it does not always work.
One way or another, the day before, the head of the State Fiscal Service (SFS) of Ukraine, Roman Nasirov, stated that the additional fee would be canceled in the fourth quarter of this year. However, Deputy Minister of Finance Olena Makeeva previously named other dates - from January 1, 2016. Which of them to believe and whether it is worth trusting these statements at all - the question remains open.
