In the project, the author team of people's deputies (Shlemko D.V., Ivchenko V.E., Pavlovsky A.M.) proposes to tax owners of luxury vehicles.
Let us remind you that Mr. Tigipko once came up with such an initiative. As before, the initiators intend to measure the degree of luxury of a car by engine displacement.
For example, they propose to consider vehicles with an engine displacement of over 3510 cc as luxury cars, and motorcycles with a displacement of over 800 cc. Interestingly, the initiative completely coincides with the one that Sergey Tigipko initiated two years ago. Then he was simply ridiculed, because it is indeed complete absurdity to measure the degree of luxury of a car based on engine displacement.
But the new is the well-forgotten old. Although, in this case, it is not so old and forgotten. Nevertheless, according to the deputies, vehicle owners should pay a tax, the amount of which will be calculated by the tax authority at the place of residence of the car owner. The tax rate will depend on the type of vehicle. Owners of passenger cars and motorcycles will pay 10% of the minimum wage (currently 1218 UAH) for every 100 cc of engine displacement. However, if the car is more than 8 years old, it is no longer considered luxury. If the vehicle was purchased no more than three years ago, the full rate applies; if from 3 to 5 years, a coefficient of 0.5 is applied; and if from 5 to 8 years, a coefficient of 0.2.
