The reason was that in October Toyota will suspend the operation of all its 14 enterprises located in Japan. Of the 28 assembly lines for cars, 27 will not function. As explained in the company, this decision is due to a shortage of components and the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the countries of Southeast Asia.
Although the pause in production will be temporary, it will certainly exacerbate the shortage of the "three hundredth" model. Significant queues have already formed for this new product — for example, in Japan itself, the waiting time for the car exceeded four years.
In addition to Land Cruiser 300, the reduction in production volumes will also affect other representatives of the "Cruiser" family, including Land Cruiser Prado and Land Cruiser 70. This will also affect a number of popular models such as Corolla, Corolla Cross and others.
It is worth recalling that in August Toyota already stopped production. Downtime is also expected in the current month.
It should be noted that the new SUV debuted on the Ukrainian market on August 6. The price of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 starts from 2.4 million UAH.
