The updated Panamera posted a time of 7:29:81 on the Nordschleife, beating the previous record holder among hot hatches — the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S, which completed the lap in 7:30:11.

A production hatchback took to the track without any technical modifications, apart from the installed roll cage and racing driver's seat. The car was driven by Porsche factory driver Lars Kern.

The facelifted version of the Porsche Panamera will be unveiled at the end of August. It is expected that the updated model will feature a more powerful version of the four-liter turbo engine, with output increasing to 630 hp.
