Production of the BMW i8 hybrid sports car has ended — the last car rolled off the line at the Leipzig plant. Over the entire production period, the Bavarian brand assembled approximately 20.5 thousand of these striking vehicles. The final series included 18 units, which were offered with extended equipment and received unique exterior styling.
The BMW i8 hybrid system combined a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The total output of this system reached 374 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h took the sports car 4.4 seconds, and the top speed, as befits a model of this class, was electronically limited to 250 km/h.
