The electric car successfully passed all crash tests, as well as a check of lighting devices and the functioning of safety systems. According to each of the criteria, the car received ratings of "good" or "excellent." In addition, experts highly appreciated the effectiveness of the collision warning system. The result of the tests was the assignment of the maximum safety rating Top Safety Pick+ to the electric car.
In July, the Model 3 also underwent tests by the European organization Euro NCAP. The most affordable model of the American brand earned the highest score — five stars. The protection of the driver and adult passengers in the Tesla Model 3 was rated at 96%, children — at 86%, pedestrians — at 74%, and the functioning of electronic assistants — at 93%. The car almost flawlessly passed all crash test scenarios, including a simulation of a side impact against a pole. The only remark from experts concerned the fact that in such a collision, the driver could sustain a chest injury.
