The enterprise has organized assembly of the model with index 1, equipped a test track, and opened a customer service center.
The complexity of producing the Polestar 1 hybrid sports coupe lies in the fact that the carbon fiber body requires special equipment and a technical process. Previously, assembly was launched in test mode at the plant in Gothenburg, Sweden, but then all technologies were transferred to the new Chinese base.
The coupe is based on the SPA platform with double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. The hybrid is powered by a system that includes two electric motors on the rear axle and a two-liter gasoline engine at the front. The total output of the units is 600 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque.
About 500 thousand cars will roll off the assembly line of the new plant annually, with some of them for the domestic market and the rest for export. The starting price of the Polestar 1 in Europe will range from 130,000 to 150,000 euros.
