The recall will affect models of the fifth and sixth series — namely bodies E60, E61, E63 and E64, which came off the assembly line from February 2002 to July 2010. In total, we are talking about 560 thousand cars, while in Germany about 274 thousand units will have to be recalled.

The reason for the service campaign was damage to the electrical wiring caused by corrosion. BMW, however, emphasizes that this campaign is exclusively preventive in nature, and the risk of fire exists only in extremely rare cases.
