Audi electric cars required repair work due to the risk of moisture getting inside, which could cause a short circuit, and in the worst case, a serious breakdown or even a fire. As a representative of Audi's US office reported, special sensors are responsible for detecting moisture: if a corresponding indicator appears on the instrument panel, the driver should immediately stop in an open area and call a tow truck. The engine should be turned off, and connecting the car to a charging device is strictly prohibited.

Until the start of the service campaign, scheduled for August of this year, owners can safely use their cars. However, if someone does not want to take risks and continue driving a potentially unsafe crossover, they will be provided with a replacement vehicle for the duration of the repair, as well as a fuel card for $800.

A similar problem affects all e-tron models, not just those sold on the American market. For example, in Europe, where this electric car went on sale at the end of last year, five cases of moisture ingress were recorded — sensors promptly alerted drivers to the malfunction, and the situation did not escalate to a fire.
