The voting results will be summed up by a jury, which this year includes 86 media representatives. The winner's name will be announced on April 17 at the New York Auto Show.

The final stage of the battle for the title of "World Car of the Year" features three models: Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Volvo S60/V60.

In addition to the main award, the ceremony will also determine the best in a number of additional categories. In the "Best Luxury Car" class, Audi A7, Audi Q8, and BMW 8-Series are competing for victory. In the "Best Compact City Car" nomination, Hyundai AH2/Santro, Kia Soul, and Suzuki Jimny are competing against each other. The list of contenders for the title of best sports car includes Aston Martin Vantage, McLaren 720S, and Mercedes-AMG 4-Door Coupe.

The shortlist for the greenest car competition includes Audi e-tron, Hyundai Nexo, and Jaguar I-Pace. The design award will be contested by Jaguar E-Pace, Suzuki Jimny, and Volvo XC40.

Last year brought the title of "World Car of the Year" to the Volvo XC60 crossover, which in the voting outpaced the Mazda CX-5 and Range Rover Velar.
