Toyota has decided to recall more than 1 million of its cars worldwide. According to Bloomberg, the service campaign will affect Prius and C-HR models.
Company representatives explained that vehicles included in the recall list have a risk of damage to the engine wiring. Such a malfunction can cause a short circuit and subsequently a fire.
Only one case has been recorded where a Toyota vehicle experienced smoke due to this fault. No one was injured in that incident.
According to available data, 554,000 vehicles will be sent for service in Japan, and another 192,000 in the United States.
