The previous record of 165 kilometers, set on a Toyota GT86 coupe, was beaten by more than double.
The record-breaking run took place at the BMW test track in South Carolina, USA. Over eight hours, the driver had to refuel the car while in motion — using another M5 sedan, but from the previous generation.
In addition, the team achieved another feat: two M5 cars drifted in sync on wet asphalt for 80 kilometers, taking exactly one hour to do so.
