Voltage surges in the electrical system of these vehicles can cause a temporary shutdown of the electric power steering, as well as malfunctions in the operation of the stability control system, multimedia equipment, trip computer, and air conditioning system.
The defect was found on pickups that rolled off the assembly line between January 2013 and September 2014. Owners of such vehicles will soon receive invitations for service maintenance.
