The abbreviation SURUS stands for Silent Utility Rover Universal Superstructure – a “silent utility all-terrain vehicle with a universal superstructure.” The platform is intended primarily for military vehicles, but will also be useful for municipal and commercial transport.

SURUS uses Hydrotec technology with second-generation fuel cells, and the hydrogen reserves on board should be enough for almost 650 km. The condensate obtained during the system’s operation can be used as drinking water.

All wheels of the all-wheel-drive platform are controlled separately for better maneuverability. In addition, the “cart” is capable of moving in autonomous mode.

GM representatives do not yet name the timing for launching the SURUS modular platform into serial production.
