Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models have been found to have brake problems, which have already been brought to the attention of the American National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Due to malfunctions in the ABS system, the braking distance may suddenly increase significantly. 141 such cases have already been recorded, including even running red lights. In three situations, it ended in an accident, but no one was injured.
If the initiated investigation proves the fact of incorrect operation of the anti-lock braking system, the Ford concern will have to conduct a recall campaign for the Fusion sedan and the platform-sharing model Mercury Milan of 2007-2009 model years.
