The title of the best "compact SUV" went to the Volkswagen Tiguan — this car showed an almost maximum level of passenger protection, scoring 96%.
In the "large family car" category, the first place was taken by the Toyota Prius hybrid, whose result was slightly more modest — 92%.
The third winner was another hybrid — the Hyundai Ioniq, which topped the "compact family car" class with a passenger protection score of 91%.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class could well have been among the prize winners, as it received high safety ratings, but this year this model was the only "executive car" among the Euro NCAP crash test participants, so the organizers did not award the sedan the victory due to the lack of competitors.
