The LaFerrari model came off the assembly line in a quantity of 499 units, and all of them were pre-purchased through advance orders. However, there was also a five-hundredth, additional example that remained in the company's museum. It is this unique car that the Italian manufacturer decided to put under the hammer.
The sum of 7 million dollars became the highest ever paid for a car created in the current century. All proceeds will be directed to support people affected by the recent earthquake in Italy.
