The organizers of the sixth international festival "Park Kyivska Rus" decided to dedicate it to two important historical dates - the 1150th anniversary of the emergence of Slavic writing and the 900th anniversary of the first edition of "The Tale of Bygone Years", paying tribute to the history and traditions of their ancestors.

Next year, for the first time in Ukraine, horse archery competitions will be held, which will take place at the lists of Ancient Kyiv. This sport has its roots in ancient martial arts. Riders will be able to demonstrate their skills twice - in April and August, when international tournaments "Horse Archer of Ancient Kyiv" will take place.

Another novelty of the season will be the international festival "Slavnytsia", dedicated to modern cultures. In the first days of June, children's and youth creative groups from different countries will gather in the park to introduce guests to the cultural traditions of their regions. The organizers will also keep the already beloved tournaments and championships, including "Archers of Ancient Kyiv", "Kyivan Rus XIII-XIV centuries", "Call of Heroes", "Guests of Ancient Kyiv XV century" and "Bylinas of Ancient Kyiv IX-XI centuries". In 2013, archers will demonstrate the art of shooting from a traditional bow, medieval warriors will fight on the battlefield and win the attention of ladies, European nobility will meet again at the padarm, and epic heroes of Ancient Kyiv will show their strength and wisdom to park visitors. The lists will also host historical fencing competitions of various levels - from city championships to international tournaments, and "Vytiaz of Kyiv Dytynets" will invite fighters to new trials.

In 2013, young participants will be able to compete for the title of "Miss Kyivan Rus". Girls will have the opportunity to demonstrate their beauty, charm and talents that this ancient land has endowed them with.

In addition, every weekend the park will host celebrations with games, contests and quests, such as Maslenitsa with pancakes or Ivan Kupala - a holiday dedicated to the sun and love.

For the first time in 2013, Old New Year will also be celebrated here, and the organizers promise a great mood for every guest.
