Three models earned the maximum five points, while the Duster had to settle for only three. The low result of the Dacia is explained by weak protection for the driver and front passengers. In a side impact, as experts note, there is a risk of serious chest injuries for people in the front seats. Also, in a rear-end collision, neck spine injuries are possible. The frontal impact showed an acceptable level of safety for the driver, but people with non-standard dimensions may be less comfortable due to the design features of the front panel.

Euro NCAP experts also gave a low rating to the hood of the Duster crossover in terms of pedestrian safety and criticized the lack of electronic assistants in the standard configuration. At the same time, the transportation of children under three years old was recognized as safe at a high level.

The Dacia Duster is based on the Renault Logan platform, which in 2005 in similar Euro NCAP tests also received three stars.
