Ukrainian specialists have created a new engine, taking as a basis a standard unit with a displacement of 1.6 liters, which produces 106 horsepower. After installing a turbine and reconfiguring the electronic control unit, the power increased to 145 hp, and the peak torque of 180 Nm is now available already at 2500 rpm.
The engine will work in conjunction with a new six-speed manual gearbox, which will allow it to fully unleash its capabilities. With such characteristics, the turbocharged Lanos will be able to reach a speed of up to 200 km/h, and acceleration to 100 km/h will take 9.5 seconds.
In the maximum configuration, the car will receive 16-inch alloy wheels, shortened suspension, and disc brakes on all wheels.
Additionally, an exterior styling package will be available for buyers. It will include a large rear wing on the trunk lid, blue illumination for the windshield washer nozzles, and bright red mud flaps from Sparco.

The price for the turbo version of the Lanos will be announced at the official presentation of the model, which is scheduled for April 1, 2011. ; )
